But young people aren't the only ones in pursuit of the  digital get down . The study reveals that 55- to 64-year-olds are also flocking to online dating, with 12% of older adults having tried it-double the 6% reported back in 2013.

The reason for this influx? According to businessman Justin McLeod “everyone recognizes that the traditional dating model is broken”, and it is this belief that has prompted many hopeful entrepreneurs to throw their hat into the online dating ring.

Users of Grindr, for instance, give more than half an hour per day to use the app. Meanwhile, users of OKCupid, Match and Tinder devote 13 to 15 minutes of their day to find the best date. In Asia, Tinder is the most-loved app among users, followed by Badoo, Momo, Paktor, YYC, Heartbeep and iPair: Meet your Match.
